About this event
A special concert titled Sounds of Izumi: Yearning for Everlasting Springs Through Music will be held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the municipal organization of Izumi City. The program traces the history, present, and hopes for the future of Izumi City alongside music. A diverse selection of works including Sibelius's Finlandia, Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures at an Exhibition, and Stravinsky's The Firebird will be performed by members of Oto no Wa. Weaving together photographs capturing Izumi City's present and hopes for the future, the concert allows attendees to feel Izumi's journey through music. Held every summer, the Oto no Wa concert marks its 18th edition with a record 26 performers. Enjoyable alongside narration and visuals, the concert also offers a backstage tour to observe dress rehearsals and the wings of the stage, and strives to be barrier-free so that anyone can attend with peace of mind.
