Shimokamada New Yatai Consecration Ceremony

In the Shimokamada district of Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, a consecration ceremony (Nyukon-shiki) will be held to unveil a newly crafted yatai (festival float). On the day, the yatai will first be brought out of the Shimokamada Yataigura storage at 8:00 AM, and the consecration ceremony will be conducted at Kamada Shrine at 10:00 AM. After that, a town parade (machi-neri) is scheduled in the Shimokamada area at 1:00 PM, where you can see the newly made float parading through the neighborhood. This event commemorates the new craft of the Shimokamada float and will be a special day for local residents. In case of rain, it is scheduled to be postponed to the following day, Wednesday, September 23 (National Holiday).
