The 'Himeji Animal Welfare Festival' held at Himeji City Zoo is organized on the occasion of Be Kind to Animals Week (September 20 to September 26) to promote and raise awareness of animal welfare concepts. The event features various activities to deepen interest in and understanding of animals, such as a quiz rally and a Special Petting Plaza. There is also plenty of content for children to enjoy, including animal face painting, an animal tin badge making corner, and an exciting garapon lottery corner. An awareness corner regarding disaster preparedness for pets and dog/cat adoption systems will also be set up, allowing visitors to deepen their learning about animals. Prize-winning works from the Animal Welfare Slogan and Sketch Contest will also be on display, giving visitors the opportunity to foster love for animals. On the day of the festival, admission to Himeji City Zoo is free, making it easy to visit with family and friends.
