2026 Pink Ribbon Event: "Releasing Pink Sky Lanterns Over Himeji Castle!"

About this event
With the wish to "help as many people as possible learn about breast cancer," this event illuminates Himeji Castle in pink and releases pink sky lanterns. Visitors can enjoy the magical, beautiful Himeji Castle along with the sight of lanterns floating in the night sky. Anyone can release a sky lantern, though advance registration is required. Lanterns are limited to the first 500 units and cost 3,800 yen each (tax included). In case of rain or strong winds, the event will be postponed to the following day. The event will also feature awareness campaigns on accurate knowledge about breast cancer, displays of Pink Ribbon quilts, and more. Shiromaruhime will also make an appearance to support the awareness campaign. In addition, a seminar on "breast awareness" leading to early breast cancer detection will be held.
