About this event
The 'Miki Rofu Award New Children's Song Contest' is a nationwide public children's song poetry contest hosted by Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, the birthplace of Rofu Miki, the lyricist of the children's song 'Akatonbo' (Red Dragonfly). It is a historic contest that has continued since the 'Children's Song Village Declaration' in 1984 (Showa 59), selecting winning entries from submitted poems and commissioning leading Japanese composers to set them to music. To date, 112 children's songs have been born, with poetry submissions open regardless of professional or amateur status, age, or nationality. In this presentation, winning poems selected in the 42nd contest will be announced. The venue is Tatsuno City General Cultural Center Akatonbo Cultural Hall.
