Okunoin Mando-e

Held at Mount Koya Okunoin, "Okunoin Mando-e" is an occasion when the Torodo (Lantern Hall) is specially opened outside of normal viewing hours. During the period from October 1 to October 3, in addition to the regular viewing hours of 6:00 to 17:00, the doors are opened again from 19:00 to 21:00. During this period, visitors can experience the mystical atmosphere of Okunoin more deeply. While Okunoin is open for worship 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, interior viewing of Torodo has limited hours. Mando-e is a precious opportunity to view the interior of Torodo during these special hours, allowing you to spend a solemn time surrounded by countless lights lit in the tranquil night of Mount Koya. This event will be a special experience to connect with the history and faith of Mount Koya.
