📅 Sat, Oct 24, 2026
About this event
A trekking event combining environmental conservation activities will be held on the Mitanizaka and Hatchozaka sections, which are part of the Koyasan Pilgrimage Trails. Participants will perform maintenance and conservation activities such as removing stones and fallen leaves accumulated on the pilgrimage trails due to wind and rain, trail repair, and cleanup activities. Specifically, the work includes carrying soil in sandbags to repair the pilgrimage trail. The course is approximately 5km, scheduled to start with an official worship at Niutsuhime Shrine, followed by conservation activities at Mitanizaka, passing through Ropponsugi and Futatsutorii, conservation activities at Hatchozaka, and returning back to Niutsuhime Shrine. This event is a valuable opportunity to walk the historical pilgrimage trail and connect with nature while contributing to the conservation of a World Heritage site. Temporary parking is available, but carpooling is recommended due to limited spaces.
