Yakage Townscape Stone Tour

About this event

A special exhibition fusing art with the atmospheric townscape of Yakage Town, Okayama Prefecture, Yakage Machinami Ishi Meguri, will be held. Set in the town center of Yakage, which retains traces of an old post town, stone art resonates. From modern sculptures given life by craftsmanship to the history of suiseki shaped over countless years, this is a special period to experience the rich charm of both new and old stones while strolling through town. Stone sculptures created during 'The Nomigirism 2026' are the main exhibits on display. The outdoor exhibits around the Yakage Shopping Street can be viewed 24 hours a day, while the Yakage stone exhibition at Roadside Station Sanyodo Yakage-juku (Michi-no-Eki Sanyodo Yakage-juku) takes place from 9:00 to 17:00. Admission is free.
