Seimei Telescope Electronically Assisted Astronomy Stargazing Event
Japanese name:せいめい望遠鏡電視観望会
📅 Sat, Aug 29, 2026
About this event
A very rare electronically assisted astronomy (EAA) stargazing event will be held using the 'Seimei Telescope,' which boasts the largest aperture in East Asia at 3.8 meters. An EAA stargazing event using a research telescope with a 4-meter-class aperture is an opportunity unprecedented anywhere in the world. During the event, celestial bodies currently being observed by the Seimei Telescope will be projected onto a monitor in real time. Under the guidance and commentary of researchers, participants will tour the telescope and observe celestial objects at their best viewing period—such as Vega in Lyra (the Weaver Girl star) and the Ring Nebula M57—through the monitor. Please enjoy this special experience of exploring the mysteries of the universe together with your family and friends.
