2026 Innoshima Suigun Festival - Fire Festival -

About this event

Held to commemorate the feats of the Murakami Suigun (Murakami Navies) who operated based in Innoshima during the Muromachi and Sengoku periods, the Fire Festival—part of the 2026 Innoshima Suigun Festival celebrating its 33rd edition this year—will take place. This event features powerful attractions including the departure ceremony (shutsujin-shiki), choraku-mai dance, grand torch procession (o-taimatsu nerimawashi), full entry of the Innoshima Murakami Suigun forces, and giant mortar fireworks (otsutsu hanabi) displays. At the venue, Innoshima Amenity Park Shimanami Beach, visitors can enjoy fireworks illuminating the night sky and heroic navy dance performances. For the first time this year, a YouTube live stream will also be conducted, allowing those unable to visit in person to experience the festival atmosphere online. This traditional festival represents the region, energized by the united efforts of Innoshima residents.
