The 48th Akiyoshidai Tourism Festival Fireworks Display

Japanese name:第48回 秋吉台観光まつり花火大会

📅 Sat, Sep 5, 2026

📍 Mine, Yamaguchi

About this event

The "Akiyoshidai Tourism Festival Fireworks Display" will be held, coloring the night sky over Akiyoshidai, one of Japan's largest karst plateaus. A fireworks festival held in a "mountain" setting is rare nationwide; the reverberating sounds of the fireworks echoing across the mountains surrounding the vast karst plateau provide an overwhelming sense of immersion. Another feature is the launch of a 2-shaku shell expanding up to 500 meters in diameter, which is rare in western Japan. Come and experience the deep roaring rumble that resonates through your core. According to the event schedule, gates open, shuttle bus operations start, and the Akiyoshidai Market (bazaar) begins at 15:30. A special entry into Akiyoshido Cave (special fee: 600 yen, free for elementary school students and younger) takes place at 16:00, followed by a countdown and fireworks launch at 19:10, with the event scheduled to end at 20:00. An admission ticket to the viewing area is required to enter the fireworks viewing area. Please follow the instructions of police officers and security staff as traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue. In addition, bringing a flashlight is recommended as the venue and its surrounding areas will become dark. For safety management, filming via small unmanned aircraft "drones" is strictly prohibited.
