About this event
An annual autumn festival (Aki no Reitaisai) held at Zoda Shrine in Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture. Lion dance troupes (shishi-gumi) from 8 to 10 districts participate to perform powerful dedicated lion dances. Visitors can witness various styles of lion dances such as hira-jishi and botan-kuzushi, making festival day very lively. Following the dedications at the otabisho (temporary shrine stop), the customary mochi-throwing (rice cake toss) is also conducted, delighting visiting guests.
