The 7th Around-Shodoshima Ultra Walking 2026

About this event

Set on Shodoshima Island floating in the Seto Inland Sea, this ultra walking event tours beautiful rias coastlines and scenery reminiscent of the Mediterranean. Over 20 large and small islands are dotted around the island, and participants can also enjoy specialty products such as gourmet foods and olive products. This event covers a distance of 100 km with a cumulative elevation gain of 1,400 m. Eligibility is open to junior high school students and older who have no health problems. The time limit is 28 hours, with aid stations or checkpoints set up approximately every 10 km to 20 km where water, light snacks, and restrooms are available. The start and goal point is Shodoshima Olive Youth Hostel. Participation prizes and accident insurance are included, and finishers are awarded a certificate of completion. Since paper cups are not provided at the event, participants must bring their own cup. Recommended walking gear includes the final information guide, map, headlamp, rain gear, reflector, water bottle, personal cup, first aid kit, emergency food, and sunscreen. For transportation access, ferries operate from Kobe, Himeji, Okayama, and Takamatsu, and Shodoshima Olive Youth Hostel can be reached by local route bus.
