The 58th Konpira Stone Steps Marathon

About this event

"The 58th Konpira Stone Steps Marathon" will be held in Kotohira Town, Kagawa Prefecture. This event is a unique marathon that tests physical endurance and mental strength as participants run up the stone steps from the approach of Kotohira-gu Shrine all the way to the main shrine (Gohon-gu). Anyone is eligible to participate as long as they are healthy and confident in completing the course on foot. The participant limit is 785 people on a first-come, first-served basis through online applications only. The entry fee is 3,000 yen and requires advance online payment. Even if canceled due to severe weather, entry fees will not be refunded; however, commemorative participation T-shirts and other items will be shipped to all participants. Applications are processed through "moshicom" from Friday, August 14, 2026 (Reiwa 8) to Monday, September 7, 2026. The start is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
