Held in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, 'Moon-Viewing Gathering - Imotaki Night -' is a special evening to savor 'Ozu no Imotaki', an autumn seasonal tradition along the banks of the Hiji River. Imotaki, a traditional dish handed down since the feudal clan period, is a simple yet deeply nourishing dish made by simmering local Ozu taro alongside deep-fried tofu (aburaage), chicken, konjac, and other ingredients in a seasoned broth. Looking out over the beautiful scenery of the Hiji River as it transitions from autumn dusk into night while gathering around a hot pot with friends and family makes for an extraordinary experience unique to this season. Serving as an event to wrap up the imotaki season, it offers an opportunity to fully appreciate Ozu's rich food culture and poetic charm.
