About this event
Held in the castle town of Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, 'OZU ARTS and CRAFTS 2026' is an art project that provides a special experience where art and traditional crafts intersect while touring historic architecture. Using historical locations such as Ozu Castle, Garyu Sanso, Bansen-so, and HITOSHIMA Hirata Residence Art Space as venues, it provides an opportunity to interact with artworks while feeling the different light, atmosphere, and tranquility of each location. Four artists invited from Japan, Taiwan, and France—Yuji Dangami, Bo-Chieh Chang, Li-Sheng Kang, and Nessim Cohen—will present their unique worldviews in each space, creating a 'one-of-a-kind emotional experience' through the fusion of historic buildings and contemporary art. The true pleasure of this event is not only viewing the works, but also feeling the atmosphere of the venue, the passage of time, and a sense of unity with architecture and nature, allowing you to experience moments filled with a sense of your five senses slowly opening up and discoveries that are nostalgic yet stimulating. During the event, the entire town becomes like an art museum, offering a special encounter that brings you much closer to art. The artworks created while genuinely engaging with the town and history of Ozu bring fresh stimulation to the sensibilities of those who view them, allowing you to feel the rich culture of the Ozu castle town everywhere. Strolling around town during the event period is also enjoyable, and stopping by local gourmet spots and shops is recommended.
