The Shinane Festival, the grand festival of Tosa Shrine, will be held from August 24 to 25, 2026. On the first day, the 24th, kagura dedications are performed, and evening stalls of street vendors line the 300-meter approach to the shrine, bustling with many worshippers. At night, bonfires and lanterns are lit within the shrine grounds, enveloping the area in a magical atmosphere. On the following day, the 25th, Shinto rituals take center stage, featuring the grand festival service and a procession of portable shrines (mikoshi). This festival is a precious opportunity to experience local tradition and vibrancy.
