The theatrical performance "Ghost of New Hamlet," held at Ekingura in Akaoka-cho, Konan City, Kochi Prefecture, is a main production by Sister Beep, a theater unit based in Kochi Prefecture. Based on William Shakespeare's masterpiece "Hamlet" and Osamu Dazai's novel "New Hamlet," this work reconstructs them as a new "revenge play" through the lens of reinterpretation potential—the ghost—from a modern sense of issues. Previously, their performance at the Red Brick Merchant House captivated audiences with its unpredictable plot, and this time, the staging at Ekingura as a "kura" (storehouse) performance has been realized. Together with the Takogura performance in Kochi City, you can experience the world of a new "revenge play" at the venue.
