About this event

A gallery tour for kids will be held as part of the "Summer Vacation Children's Art Museum 2026 'I Want to Go to Space'" at the Fukuoka Art Museum. Aimed at expanding children's imagination, this special exhibition showcases 18 works selected from the Fukuoka Art Museum's collection of paintings and three-dimensional art under the theme of "space." Through works such as Osamu Ochi's "Microcosmos Diary" and Mitsuko Tabe's "Universal Gravitation," children experience the endless world of the cosmos. Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery A displays works with darker color tones evoking outer space, while Gallery B exhibits bright, colorful, and dynamic works reflecting the universe, allowing visitors to visually experience cosmic diversity. Furthermore, various welcoming features have been prepared for diverse participants, including an "Open Workshop Space" inside the exhibition room for craft-making and booklets introducing the artworks in "Plain Japanese." A "Summer Vacation Children's Library" corner offering related picture books and manga is also available, which might provide clues for summer vacation research projects. In this gallery tour, participants can appreciate the exhibited works alongside volunteer guides and nurture an inquiring mind toward space.
