Teruhime Festival 2026

About this event

A festival of culture and prayer held to commemorate the 400th memorial anniversary of Teruhime, the official wife of Kuroda Kanbei (Josui). A variety of events will be held, including memorial services, a tea offering ceremony, a Teruhime contest, picture storytelling (kamishibai), dedicatory performances, live painting, and a festival market. In the evening, a 400-person sparkler dedication will take place, making it an event that can be enjoyed across generations while remembering the virtues of Teruhime.
