About this event

From Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Fukuoka Science Museum in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, will host the summer special exhibition 'Aim to Be a True "Dangerous Creatures" Expert! The Dangerous Yet Fascinating World of Creatures.' This exhibition brings together creatures that may seem 'dangerous' at first glance but are full of fascination, including reptiles and amphibians like snakes and frogs, venomous creatures, and insects such as rhinoceros beetles. Visitors can observe creatures up close that are usually hard to see, and learn about the thrilling side of nature that becomes more interesting the more you know. With new creatures introduced every week, visitors will make fresh discoveries on every visit. The exhibition offers a rich variety of hands-on events and workshops, such as tackling a creature quiz to become a true 'dangerous creatures' expert, enjoying a stamp rally, experiencing a snake's pit organ, hearing expert explanations with commemorative photos, and making frog candles. Perfect for summer vacation independent research projects, this event has content enjoyable for both children and adults.
