About this event
This event lets visitors experience the history and culture of the Tanko Bushi folk song, proudly celebrated by "Tagawa, the birthplace of Tanko Bushi." It has been held every year since fiscal 2006 on the first Sunday of November and the preceding Saturday; in 2026, it will be held on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1. At night, the twin chimneys and vertical shaft headframe are illuminated, and on the first evening, "Candle Night 2026" is held, offering a magical and romantic atmosphere. On the final day, the main event "Tanko Bushi Grand Dance" takes place, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the authentic Tanko Bushi against the backdrop of Mount Kawara, the twin chimneys, and the vertical shaft headframe—an experience unique to Tagawa.
