Summer of Contemplating Peace Through Art: LOVE & PEACE 2026

About this event

The contemporary art exhibition 'LOVE & PEACE 2026,' which reflects on peace through art, will be held in August. During the event period, in addition to exhibitions of works imbued with wishes for peace, participatory events enjoyable for parents and children will also be held. Continuing from last year, a peace message will be delivered through collaborative works between local elementary school students and Mr. Shigenobu Yoshida, an artist from Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, who has also created works related to recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. In addition, projects such as the 'Mizuaoi Project' by Shintaro Araki are planned, which cultivates and spreads the near-threatened Mizuaoi plant (which sprouted in areas affected by the tsunami from the Great East Japan Earthquake) as a symbol of rebirth and a flower that tells the story of the disaster, creating connections between people.
