About this event
Held in Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Yanagawa Sengoku Street 2026" is an event aimed at realizing a Taiga drama adaptation based on the first lord of Yanagawa Domain, Muneshige Tachibana, and his wife, Ginchiyo. Linked with the Mihashira Shrine Autumn Grand Festival "Onigiwae," the pedestrianized streets allow visitors to experience sword-fighting battles (chanbara), matchlock gun demonstrations, and Sengoku-period workshops alongside warlords such as Muneshige Tachibana. Featuring bouncy castle inflatable play equipment and a rich selection of local gourmet food, the event allows children and adults alike to experience the excitement of history with family and friends and liven up the city of Yanagawa. In the evening, dynamic taiko drum performances as well as Yanagawa's traditional festival floats "Dorotsukudon" and "Odoriyama" make appearances, making it an event where you can fully enjoy the charms of Yanagawa throughout the entire day. Admission is free.
