95th Chikuzen Biwa National Convention

Founded in Fukuoka Prefecture in Meiji 42 (1909) and later spread throughout Japan, the Chikuzen Biwa Nippon Asahi-kai will hold its 95th Commemorative Concert in Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, the birthplace of Chikuzen biwa. Chikuzen biwa players gathering from across the country will showcase the traditional sound and storytelling world handed down through generations. Some pieces feature gorgeous programs incorporating Japanese classical dance (Nihon-buyo), koto music, and tea ceremony, making for an impressive concert. You can enjoy the rich narrative art of the Chikuzen biwa.
