About this event
At the "Summer Craft Workshop 2026" held at the Kodai Taikenkan Ogori (Ancient Experience Hall Ogori), participants can experience making earthenware, magatama beads, and stone knives. Create your own original piece while getting a feel for the craftsmanship and thoughts of people in ancient times. The workshop is held across multiple sessions, and the clay earthenware crafting requires joint participation with the subsequent mud kiln firing. Experiences crafting magatama beads and stone knives are also available, making it a valuable opportunity to connect with ancient lifestyle. The participation fee is 100 yen per person for materials (500 yen for the 5th session). Those who passed the History Certification exam in the previous fiscal year also receive a perk allowing free participation, except for the 5th session. Applications open on Monday, July 6 at 9:00 AM by phone or via a dedicated form. Applications will close once capacity is reached, so please apply early if you wish to participate.
