About this event

The "1st Nakoku / Kasuga Hometown Summer Festival" will be born as a new summer tradition in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture. With the theme of "a festival that cherishes the community and connects people to people", this event is a new local summer festival created together by local residents, companies, organizations, and children. Amid recent years where community ties tend to become weakened, it aims to provide a place where everyone from children to the elderly can easily gather and interact with smiles. As highlights of the event, at the Gourmet Marche where about 70 stores including local eateries and kitchen cars gather, visitors can enjoy diverse gourmet foods such as yakitori, beef skewers, yakisoba, sweets, and shaved ice. In addition, about 400 lanterns will be set up at the venue, featuring a "Lantern Road" that serves as a photo spot during the day and colors the venue with fantastical lights at night, creating an atmosphere unique to summer festivals. Furthermore, in the lavish all-day stage events, dance, kids' performances, belly dance, Karaoke Grand Prix, live music stages, and more are scheduled, with former Whiteberry member Yuki Maeda appearing as a special guest to perform her signature song "Natsumatsuri". Visitor participation activities such as a grand raffle, Karaoke Grand Prix, riddle-solving events, merchandise sales, and hands-on experience booths will also be held, packed with content that can be enjoyed throughout the day by children and adults alike. This festival aims to grow as a new summer tradition of Kasuga and as a culture rooted in the local community.
