About this event
The 'Children's Festival 2026' will be held in Munakata City. Planned with 24 junior and senior high school students taking the lead as the executive committee, this event aims to eliminate disparities in children's experiential opportunities and create an event centered on children. On the day of the event, approximately 60 booths will be set up inside and outside the building, offering a petting zoo, a soap bubble show, festival games, food trucks, and children's vendor booths. In addition, there are booths focused on the SDGs and environmental issues, such as advance-reservation 'Ikebana Experience' and 'Fish Cleaning Experience', as well as workshops using marine plastic waste and waste oil upcycling experiences. Yui Katayama, a second-year high school student serving as the executive committee chair, shared, 'I want to make it a place where both children and parents can spend time with peace of mind.' Yuki Hirata, representative of Munakata JLC, expressed hope that through the event shaped by the students' efforts, children will find things they genuinely love. The event runs from 10:00 to 16:00, admission is free, though some activities require a fee and advance reservation.
