The 14th Itoshima Citizens Festival

Itoshima's largest civic festival held every October in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Reaching its 14th edition in 2026, it will be held over 2 days on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. The festival is packed with attractions highlighting Itoshima's appeal, including gourmet foods and specialties crafted with Itoshima ingredients, "Waku-Waku Experience" activities for parents and children, and civic performances such as dance and musical concerts. In the "Itoshima Gourmet Grand Prix i-1," one of the headline events, local restaurants compete with signature dishes featuring Itoshima ingredients, with the Grand Prix winner decided by visitor votes. Additionally, a fireworks display is scheduled at the Kafuri Fishing Port Plaza on Saturday, October 3, making it a major autumn event gathering Itoshima's gastronomy, culture, and community together. Visitors can also enjoy an outdoor stage, gourmet and specialty product sales, hands-on interactive zones, a public area, and art exhibitions.
