The 4th session of the "Lespoir Hisayama History Lecture 2026," which explores the history of Hisayama from various fields, will be held under the theme "Buddhist Statues of Hisayama." Welcoming Susumu Igata from the Kyushu Historical Museum as the lecturer, the session will explore the history and charm of Buddhist statues preserved in Hisayama Town. This lecture aims to deepen understanding of the history hidden in familiar landscapes in Hisayama Town, where the construction of the guidance facility for the Shurazan Ruins is underway. Exploring the history of Hisayama from multifaceted perspectives such as archaeology, architecture, and sculpture, it will provide an opportunity to foster rich knowledge. As part of a 6-part series of lectures, it offers hints for enjoying history more deeply.
