About this event
This traditional autumn grand festival held once a year at Onamuchi Shrine boasts a history of 700 to 800 years. The festival is held to give thanks for the harvest. Highlights of the festival include the "Okudari," a parade mimicking the daimyo procession of the Akizuki domain, and the "Urayasu no Mai" dance performed by local junior high school students. The usually quiet shrine precinct becomes lively with many visitors during the festival period.
