Held over five days from Friday, October 30 to Tuesday (National Holiday), November 3, 2026, in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, this is one of Asia's largest sky sports events. As a hot air balloon competition, its charm lies in the spectacular pageant staged in the sky by balloonists gathering from across Japan and around the world. Event titles include the 39th Pacific Cup, the 2026 Hot Air Balloon Honda Grand Prix 3rd Round, and Balloon Fantasia 2026, allowing visitors to enjoy hot air balloons across various categories such as the Competition Division, Fiesta Division, and Balloon Fantasia Division. A total of 72 balloons in the Competition Division, 21 in the Fiesta Division, and 20 in the Balloon Fantasia Division are scheduled to participate, coloring the Saga sky with over 123 hot air balloons in total. Overseas participation is also expected to give the event an international flair, with 15 balloons in the Competition Division, 6 in the Fiesta Division, and 4 in the Balloon Fantasia Division. The full schedule, including official practice and the awards ceremony, runs from Wednesday, October 28 to Wednesday, November 4, 2026. This event offers an opportunity to fully experience the charm of Saga, well known as the town of hot air balloons.
