The '4th Kumamoto Kosa Aquathlon' held in Kosa Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a competitive event utilizing the nature-rich Midori River and the Kumamoto Kosa Comprehensive Sports Park. Held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, it will take place across 5 competition divisions ranging from 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students to the general public. Participants can experience the exhilaration of swimming and running freely in nature, and beginners are very welcome. The tournament aims for regional revitalization, environmental conservation, and health promotion through sports, and cleanup activities will also be conducted at the venue and around the Midori River. Awareness of environmental conservation will also be raised by utilizing electric vehicles provided by sponsor companies as power sources for the venue. Furthermore, in collaboration with local disaster prevention specialists, introducing use cases of EVs as emergency power sources during disasters will contribute to improving community disaster preparedness. The event schedule is detailed from participant check-in to opening ceremony, competition start, awards ceremony, lottery, and event closing, offering content enjoyable for visitors as well as competitors. Course maps are also prepared so that overviews of each competition division can be reviewed. Information regarding participation eligibility, required items, and entry fees is also provided, ensuring a system where participants can join with peace of mind.
