Commemorative Lecture for Summer Special Exhibition "Insect Night Wonderland: Hands-on! Insects in the Dark Exhibition"

About this event

To commemorate the Summer Special Exhibition "Insect Night Wonderland: Hands-on! Insects in the Dark Exhibition," the Mifune Dinosaur Museum will hold a commemorative lecture. Titled "Deciphering Insect History from Kyushu's First Dinosaur-Era Insect Fossils," the lecture will be delivered by Dr. Nozomu Oyama, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dinosaur Studies, University of Fukui. The event will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 (Reiwa 8), from 14:00 to 16:00 in the Large Conference Room of the Mifune Town Culture Center. Admission is free, with a capacity of 60 participants. Attendees will receive a complimentary admission ticket to the permanent exhibition of the Mifune Dinosaur Museum (excluding infants/preschoolers). The application period is from July 10, 2026 (Reiwa 8) to Friday, August 21, 2026 (Reiwa 8) at 15:00, and registration must be made via the event application form on the museum website. The lecture venue differs from the special exhibition venue, but is a 1-minute walk from the museum. The special exhibition "Insect Night Wonderland: Hands-on! Insects in the Dark Exhibition" will run from Saturday, July 18, 2026 (Reiwa 8) to Sunday, August 23, 2026 (Reiwa 8).
