Held at the Taketa City History and Culture Museum / Yugakukan, the special exhibition "Taketa 100-Year Project: Hearing the Chime - Showa Era Schools" looks back on the history of schools in Taketa City on the milestone occasion of Showa Year 100. In mountainous Taketa City, schools underwent repeated consolidations and closures along with social changes. This exhibition introduces the history of schools that has not been widely known until now, while recalling nostalgic school life. Featuring numerous photo exhibits of past schools and interactive hands-on corners, visitors can experience Showa school culture from various perspectives, reflecting on their own memories and discovering differences with modern schools.
