The once-a-year kagura banquet "Tagayasu Sato no Kagura Mai" held in Taketa City is a valuable opportunity to appreciate the region's traditional performing arts. As this year's special performance, the "Iwakuni Yunokoshi no Jinmai Preservation Society" from Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, a Nationally Designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, has been invited to perform a portion of their dance. A part of the rare "Iwakuni Yunokoshi no Jinmai," in which the full repertoire is dedicated once every 7 years, can be enjoyed at Rentaro Hall inside the Taketa City Cultural Center Grandts Taketa as a kagura preserving its ancient form today. This event is a kagura performance packed with highlights where you can experience the culture and history of the region.
