The Autumn 2026 Tamatsu Platinum Market, held in Bungotakada City, is an event hosted along Tamatsu Platinum Street in conjunction with Respect for the Aged Month. On the day of the event, advance-registration programs are available, including Pilates aimed at strengthening core muscles to prevent lower back pain and yellow clay mugwort steaming (yomogi-mushi) for internal detox. In addition, there is a rich lineup of activities geared toward seniors, such as the Tamatsu Platinum Yose rakugo performance by the Oita Kennan Rakugo Union, a healthy mahjong session, health checkups (body composition checks), and hearing aid trials (ear age checks). There are also end-of-life (shukatsu) photo shoots as well as senior mobility scooter exhibitions and test drives. The venue will host a Bread Marche and Platinum Market featuring a variety of stalls offering fried chicken (karaage), mame daifuku, French fries, shaved ice, cotton candy, fresh vegetables, and more. Visitors who spend 300 yen or more or take part in paid activities will receive a lottery ticket for a chance to win prizes at the drawing venue. Traffic restrictions will also be in place on the day.
