Okimyu Autumn Festival!! 2026

About this event

Held at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum, 'Okimyu Autumn Festival!! 2026' is an event where you can experience art and culture during Silver Week. It is packed with content for the whole family to enjoy, including Ryukyuan performing arts shows by students of Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, Okimyu original coloring sheets and plaque puzzles, and photo spots where you can pose as characters or exhibits from the museum's permanent collection. In addition, programs such as enjoying artworks through card games with volunteers and viewing collection exhibitions are prepared. Furthermore, workshops will be held to make zoetropes to learn the mechanics of animation, and to make original bags using Bingata and Kasuri pattern stamps. Through these workshops, you can create your own original goods while experiencing Okinawa's traditional dyeing and weaving. Many activities at the event are free to join, though some workshops require advance application and participation fees.
