About this event

The "25th Kuicha Festival 2026," bringing together Miyako Island's representative traditional performing art "Kuicha," will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at JTA Dome Miyakojima. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the festival allows visitors to enjoy Miyako Island's rich performing arts culture throughout the day, featuring traditional Kuicha handed down across various local districts, folk performing arts, lion dances (Shishimai), Ayagu traditional songs, and creative Kuicha performed by children. Furthermore, in commemoration of the 25th anniversary, a star-studded lineup of special guests including Kazufumi Miyazawa, Claudia Oshiro, Yuko Suzuhana x Daisuke Kaminaga (Hanafugetsu / Wagakki Band), and Miyakojima Creative Performing Arts Troupe TEAM ZERO will appear to enliven the venue. On the day of the event, food trucks and sales of exclusive 25th-anniversary commemorative merchandise are also scheduled to entertain visitors. Please enjoy this special, one-day-only time and space where tradition and creativity fuse to showcase the charm of Miyako Island's Kuicha to the world.
