1st Kitanakagusuku Village Youth Association Festival

About this event

Organized by the Kitanakagusuku Village Youth Association, the "1st Kitanakagusuku Village Youth Association Festival" will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the Kitanakagusuku Elementary School Grounds. Eight youth associations from within the village and guest performing groups will gather, allowing you to enjoy up close the diverse regional styles, expressions, costumes, drum sounds, and chants of Eisa dance. Highlights include unique performances from each group, such as the dance using paranku hand drums by the Waniya Youth Association, the dance incorporating karate forms by the Kishaba Youth Association, the distinctive bachi stick spinning by the Atsuta Youth Association, and the dynamic banner dance by the Shimabukuro Youth Association. The Chunjun district is also known as the birthplace of the representative Eisa song "Chunjun Nagare." Nine vendor stalls are scheduled at the venue, allowing you to savor gourmet food between Eisa performances. A lottery open to all attendees will also be held, making it an event where you can enjoy food and lotteries alongside watching Eisa.
