About this event

The Aomori Citizens' Cultural Festival is a comprehensive and voluntary festival of arts and culture with citizen participation, aimed at providing opportunities for presenting and appreciating the arts and cultural activities of the prefecture's residents, and pursuing further development and creation of art and culture in the prefecture. The 36th Aomori Citizens' Cultural Festival (FY2026) is held mainly in Hirosaki City. The opening festival will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00 in the Main Hall of Hirosaki Civic Hall. Part 1 features the opening declaration and congratulatory speeches, while Part 2 presents a stage performance titled "Connect! To the Next Generation: A Story Woven by the Nature of Tsugaru and People's Efforts." Set in the Meiji period reached through a time-slip from the present day, this performance expresses the story of passing down rich culture and the journey of the people to the next generation through acting, traditional performing arts, video, and music. Admission is free.
