Held in the downtown area of Akita City, the "Senshu Fireworks (Akita Genki Festival)" is a summer tradition of Akita City. Fireworks launched from near Senshu Park captivate many people, with Hirokoji serving as the viewing area. On the day of the event, a diverse array of attractions takes place, including the Hirokoji Grand Parade, an impressionist live show by Dashio, a joint performance by NAMAHAGE Go-Kagura vs. Lake Tazawa Ryujin Taiko, and Kanto pole lantern performances. Notably, at night, the launched fireworks and the Niagara Falls display over the moat illuminate the summer night sky. A paid viewing area is also established, allowing attendees to enjoy the fireworks up close. Tickets typically go on sale starting in early August, further heightening the excitement of the event.
