"Mohe! Sakata! Station Plaza Summer Festival 2026" held in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, is the annual summer festival in front of the station. With the catchphrase "Mohe (Interesting/Exciting)! Sakata!", the event is packed with fun activities for visitors. A beer garden, festival games (ennichi), food trucks selling food and general goods, and street stalls are scheduled. The stage program will feature live music performances and dance showcases, as well as the "Station Plaza Exciting Mission" organized by Koryo High School. In addition, a grand raffle with luxurious prizes will be held, along with concurrent fun events inside JR Sakata Station.
