40th Shonai Hirata Mentama Summer Festival

The "40th Shonai Hirata Mentama Summer Festival" will be held, celebrating its 40th anniversary as a summer tradition in the Hirata area. Stage performances will feature the Minami-Hirata Elementary School band, the Chokai Hope Wings band, Yosakoi dance by Yumeminato Reppu x Yumegumi, unicycle performances by Sakata Unicycle Que Sera, and guitar performances by the 32nd Division Guitar Troupe. At the Hirata Area JA Festival, visitors can enjoy Bon Odori dancing and a grand lottery draw. The finale will be decorated with fireworks launched from 8:00 PM. The venue will also host a flea market, the "Hirata Mentama True-or-False Quiz Contest" where participants can win prizes by answering quizzes about Hirata (free for junior high school students and younger), and a woodworking workshop "Let's Make a Hanging Chair" (participation fee: 2,000 yen, first 10 people). With numerous stalls and food trucks appearing, this is an event where you can fully enjoy summer in Hirata.
