About this event

Banacos 1st will be held at the Beni-bana Museum in Kahoku Town, Yamagata Prefecture. This event provides an opportunity to enjoy authentic location photography against the backdrop of historic buildings designated as Japan Heritage constituent cultural properties and facilities where visitors can experience the history and culture of Edo-period safflower merchants. The event values creating an environment where both cosplayers and photographers communicate and enjoy photography and interaction safely based on mutual understanding and respect. The photoshoot area includes all unlocked facilities, and carrying prop weapons is permitted, but consideration for those around is required. Reception hours are 9:00 to 10:30, but entry after this time is also possible. Changing rooms are provided, but coming already dressed is recommended due to expected congestion. Multiple parking lots are prepared, and carpooling is recommended whenever possible. On the day of the event, tent sales by two food vendors will be held, and bringing food and beverages is also permitted. Permitted eating and drinking areas are designated. Since general visitors may also use the Beni-bana Museum on the day, consideration is required when taking photos. In particular, visitors are asked to enjoy quietly at 'Kurenai no Yakata.' Eating and drinking are prohibited outside designated areas in principle, but hydration is permitted. Please dispose of trash in the designated trash bags. Unlocked buildings are available for photo shoots, but handling requires utmost care as they are historic buildings. Please beware of injuries as some buildings are old and footholds may be difficult to see. Arriving in cosplay is permitted, but please do not leave the photo shoot area shown on the MAP. Please take sufficient care to prevent accidents when moving around the grounds. Always throw trash into trash cans. In case of poor physical health or injury, please notify the staff. Please manage valuables on your own. Please enjoy in costumes that do not infringe on the copyrights of others. As bears have been sighted in the surrounding area, if you spot a suspicious animal, do not approach and inform the staff. Photographers must obtain permission before shooting. Unauthorized photography is prohibited. If you experience or witness persistent solicitation, unauthorized photography, molestation, waiting outside changing rooms, etc., please notify staff. Video recording and shooting videos with digital cameras or mobile phones are prohibited, but short videos such as TikTok are permitted. Please participate with the understanding that event scenes may be posted on SNS. When posting to SNS, please be considerate so that people who do not wish to be published are not captured. For attendees with children, guardian accompaniment is recommended. Taking photos, applying makeup, and changing clothes in the restrooms are prohibited. Please use the changing rooms while observing manners and time limits. Complete exit from the building is at 17:00. General visitors and people who came to see cosplayers may speak to you, but handling is left to each individual cosplayer. If you do not know the reception or shooting locations, please ask the cosplay event staff. Sufficient consideration is required during interactions such as exchanging sweets. General visitors are required to purchase separate tickets. A camera ticket is required when photographing children. Please wear moderate clothing regarding cosplay costumes and props. Please refrain from excessive exposure or costumes where underwear might be visible. Costumes of real professions such as police officers, military, and security personnel are prohibited. For prop weapons that could be dangerous items such as swords, please bring them with sufficient consideration to materials and protection. Please refrain from actions that cause nuisance or discomfort to other participants. Cosplay and photography may be prohibited at the discretion of the organizer. Since this is the first event, changing room use is on a first-come, first-served basis. As the changing room is not spacious, coming already prepared is recommended. Customers without changing rooms should manage their luggage in their cars. There is no refund system after ticket purchase. Tickets will end as soon as they run out.
