This event brings together signature local gourmet foods representing various municipalities made with Ibaraki Prefecture's abundant ingredients to compete for the top spot in "Shin Ibaraki Meshi." Spanning two categories—General Cuisine and Sweets—you can witness the moment next-generation Ibaraki gourmet dishes are born. The objective of this event is to determine new signature local gourmet specialties representing Ibaraki Prefecture and proactively promote them both inside and outside the prefecture, thereby creating culinary tourism resources and fostering regional revitalisation through food. Carefully selected masterpieces that the prefecture's municipalities take pride in will gather, and through participant voting and judging panel evaluations, the dishes representing Ibaraki Prefecture will be chosen.
