Sontoku Summer Festival The Final 2026

The 'Sontoku Summer Festival' will be held to mark the grand finale of the 'Five Major Summer Festivals of Moka.' Amidst approximately 100 festival stalls, local traditional performing arts demonstrations and Bon Odori dancing will take place, drawing large crowds of visitors. From the evening onward, guests can enjoy Sontoku Taiko drumming performances, a local performing arts contest, and cool-breeze Bon Odori dancing. In addition, the concurrently held 'Sontoku Summer Festival Grand Fireworks Show,' featuring large-scale fireworks, offers tremendous excitement. Opening with the valiant beat of Sontoku Taiko drums, approximately 5,000 fireworks will illuminate the night sky. The venue along the Kinugawa Riverbed features open lawns stretching along the embankment where visitors can comfortably view the fireworks. The show features 5-gou shells launched at close range that appear to burst right overhead, along with starmines, creative fireworks, message fireworks, music fireworks, and the famously powerful shakudama (large-diameter shells).
