Held at the Uchimachi Shopping Street in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, 'Uchimachi Shopping Street Autumn Market: Books and Spices on Main Street' is an event set in the Main Street (Hondori) area that generates local vitality. The first event was held the year before last, and a Christmas market was held in the Shinmachi area last year. This year, the timing has been moved to October and will be held in the Uchimachi area. Aiming to create a town that is comfortable and enjoyable for both residents and visitors, this event also contributes to networking for people wishing to start businesses along Main Street. On the day, food, beverage, and retail vendors supporting Main Street will gather around the theme of 'spices'. A performance by the Mashiko Elementary School Wind Ensemble is also scheduled to enliven the venue. Furthermore, at 'Main Street Gathering Place [Chotto Yottette]', activities of the Town Planning Design Research Group will be introduced, and opinions regarding the future of the Main Street area will be exchanged. This event is also conducted as part of a social experiment aimed at utilizing vacant spaces along Mashiko Main Street, and questionnaires will be conducted during the period.
