About this event

The 'Noriko Tamura Exhibition' is held as a special project commemorating the 35th anniversary of Gallery C's. Noriko Tamura is one of Japan's leading mural artists, having created numerous murals both domestically and abroad, and has close ties with Gallery C's. This exhibition introduces her unique artistic style, developed through travels across Asia and the Silk Road, which symbolically depicts local ethnic cultures and scenes of prayer. Set against her distinctively textured surfaces, the vividly painted human figures convey the breathing presence and quiet strength of the people she encountered during her travels. The layers of red, orange, and yellow hues combined with rich textures gently prompt viewers to reflect on profound themes such as time, memory, prayer, and life, evoking something precious within themselves. During the exhibition, a talk show featuring Noriko Tamura herself will also take place, providing a rare opportunity to hear her speak about her works and journeys. In addition, special sales of Asian-inspired accessories discovered by Tamura on her travels will be offered.
