About this event
"Ladies in the Swamp" is a contemporary play depicting women swayed by modern loneliness and "oshi-katsu" (fandom support activities) with a blend of humor and empathy. Four middle-aged women sharing a room in a mansion lead a communal life deeply immersed in supporting K-POP idol "RION". Living surrounded by RION merchandise transforms them into refined ladies, but one day, after a new companion joins them, they win the right to a "Yontong" (video call) with him, sending the ladies into a frenzy. Amidst this excitement, a scoop article about RION stirs the public. How deep will these women sink into this swamp, how long will they continue this life, and what will the ladies convey to RION now? A talented cast including Michiko Hada and Rie Shibata depicts true-to-life characters in a work that leaves a quiet courage in the hearts of viewers.
